Thursday’s Best Concerts


Congrats on making it to Thursday you dirty rat bastards! Did you do your taxes yet? Did you walk the dog in the past 24 hrs? Did you bathe? No, no, no (said like the whacked-out version of Amy Winehouse ((RIP))? Figures. But you DID survive long enough to read our ‘Thursday’s Best Concerts’ and let’s be honest, that’s what matters most. Below are tonight’s top acts in no particular order:

Shiny Toy Guns:

Presented by KCRW, Shiny Toy Guns will play yet another show at the Regent in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the album We Are Pilots. Their first engagement took place on March 3rd and sold out quickly. Supporting the band will be Los Angeles-based indie rock band Kitten.

Where: The Regent in downtown Los Angeles.

Time: 8:30PM. All ages.

“Making the Universe Recognize and Submit” or “Making Underground Raw Shit,” otherwise known by his stage name Murs, the South Central rapper has been at it for the greater part of 15 years. Expect to hear familiar tunes such as “L.A” and “Everything,” off the rapper’s successful LP Murs For President.

Where: The Roxy in West Hollywood.

Time: Doors are at 7:30PM will the show starting at 8:30PM. All ages.

Norma Jean:

Since 1997 Norma Jean has been destroying eardrums and relaxation. Known for their brutal metalcore riffs and contagious stage presence, the band with origins in Atlanta will be making a return to Los Angeles tonight. Accompanying the group will be He Is Legend, Caspian, and Comrades.

Where: The Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood.

Time: Doors are at 6:00PM.
