Since the release of the band’s fifth studio album, The Menzingers have been taking over the world with their perfect formula of punk rock anthems. Having only been 5 months since the last time the band was in Los Angeles, with Frank Turner and Lucero, they returned to the city of angels with their own headlining show at a venue they are no stranger to, The Regent Theater in Downtown LA.
Along with them in this run across the country are two bands who have been making increasingly large amounts of noise during the past few years. Daddy Issues and Tiny Moving Parts.
Nashville’s very own Daddy Issues opened the show giving LA a taste of that good grunge pop. The perfect band to get the crowd going. Be sure to check out the record they put out last year called “Deep Dream” coz that shit is sooooo good!
Tiny Moving Parts is no stranger to the tour circuit. After travelling almost the entire world this year, these Benson (MN) boys have become a name that is very familiar all over the scene. The band didn’t waste any time, playing from start to end, 40 mins of high energy songs. (Even their mellower songs were energetic) The crowd definitely made sure they gave back everything TMP threw at them. For a band that’s listed as an “Emo” revival band, they sure make people so happy. Always a good time.
I pretty much can’t say anything more about the Menzingers that you already don’t know. It’s already expected that their shows go off. The last time they played in LA, they only had time to play a few songs. So they made sure they played a fuck ton of bangers to the sold out Regent theatre.
They opened their set with their hit single “After the Party” and the Scranton, PA band just threw hit after hit for an hour and a half. I don’t think I saw anyone there not singing along. I know for a fact them Menzo dudes can throw a show!
