The British glam rock band The Darkness kicked-off the North American leg of their Tour de Prance at Hollywood’s Fonda Theatre in front of a full house on Thursday night. The tour is in support of their fifth album, ‘Pinewood Smile‘. An energized crowd sang along, crowd surfed and followed lead singer Justin Hawkins’ lead as he had the fans spell out “D-A-R-K-N-E-S-S-S-S-S” between songs. At one point Hawkins performed a headstand next to the drum kit during a song, giving fans just what they expect while attending a Darkness show. It’s the band’s first time back in the States since supporting their album ‘Permission to Land’ in 2004.
