The Cure is not only headlining the Daydream Festival in Pasadena, they are curating the lineup too. It is packed with world-class acts like Pixies, Deftones, Mogwai and Throwing Muses, as well as upcoming bands like The Joy Formidable, Chelsea Wolfe and The Twilight Sad.
After their 40th Anniversary appearance in London’s Hyde Park, The Cure were invited to create a similar experience here in sunny California. Robert Smith had this to say about the event: “Hyde Park was a fabulous experience, the whole day was really magical, and we wanted to create something with a similar celebratory vibe for this summer.”
The whole thing takes place on August 31st at Brookside, with the Rose Bowl as a picturesque backdrop. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 17th at 12 noon. You can buy yours here.
There both General and VIP options, with the VIP offering early access, parking, an exclusive poster and access to exclusive food and drink vendors and special seating. $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to local music and arts education organizations like Mr. Holland’s Opus, Little Kids Rock, Free Arts for Abused Children, Inner-City Arts and The Painted Turtle.
The Cure have promised a new album by the end of 2019, so this may be an opportunity to hear brand new music.
