Props has been releasing music since the start of the UK coronavirus lockdown with his debut tracks gaining support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Props now returns with his 5th installment in the form of his new single “Easy”.
“Easy” blends fast-paced almost punkish guitar rhythms with grooving percussion and pulsating synths to craft a Lofi-style indie bedroom pop record. The sound of which is not dissimilar to artists such as Bloc Party, The Strokes, and MGMT. Speaking on the new single, props a.k.a Mark Gilyead says “the song addresses the worldwide economic rat-race through the metaphor of a battered relationship.”
The new single is infectiously catchy and elegantly produced, effectively mixing elements of indie-rock, techno, psychedelia, and bedroom pop.
