In this dire time of uncertainty, it’s with great pleasure that bit of sonic assurance has arrived on our doorstep. From The Micawbers comes their latest alternative rock-infused track, “Hail Hail Hallelujah!”
The track sounds like classic backyard indie rock. Gritty vocals with a bit of a telephone filter on the double feels like a badass live band at a biker cookout. It’s upbeat tempo and tambourine fit the “American dream” lyric and bring us back to the late 80s early 90s. It seems distantly inspired by early music by The Killers. Overall, the confidence, angst, and carefree nature of the song are just the right thing to be released at the start of the summer. Perfect timing guys.

The trio, consisting of Adam Chamberlain (.Sub), Ed Shiers (The Peach Kings, The Small Hours), and John Bennett (The Icarus Line, The Small Hours). The Micawbers describe themselves as producing “angry music for angry people”. Now that’s funny.
