The Habits

Need a track that’ll keep your attention while your feet bounce blissfully off the floor? Look to Los Angeles natives The Habits latest effort “Love You” to deliver. The track is playfully arranged with tastefully youthful lyrics. Consisting of singer/guitarist Wolf Bradley and drummer Andrew Macatrao, the duo create a melody that’ll be sure to get stuck in your head for days. The track speaks about one’s dedication to loving another human; something we can all relate to with ease unless you’re a dark soul and the grim reaper is your hero.

Singer/guitarist Wolf Bradley says, “‘Love Lou” was never meant to be recorded. I wrote the chorus a while back and basically forgot about it. We were in the studio and I was playing old demos and when it started, the room lit up. Musically it’s the most ambitious song we’ve made so far, referencing the likes of Peter Gabriel to Earth, Wind, and Fire. The verses needed to be rewritten and I decided to approach them, lyrically, in a Weezer-esque way. I wanted it to walk that line of cheesy, but be completely self-aware. The track journeyed from a forgotten gem to the most honestly fun representation of this band so far. Although I have a tendency to wallow in love, I celebrate it too. As a human, it’s our duty to be good and decent to the ones we love. I take my job very seriously…and my job is to love you.”

With songs that are similar to that of Bag Raiders and Strange Talk, listeners will find a collection of tracks that’ll enhance their workout and improve their love life. “Love You” is the first single off of the duo’s new EP, out June 14.
