Austrailian fem-pop artist Magnets has blasted a new music video onto the interweb. Known for her incredibly visual storytelling along with absurdly catchy tunes, the video is for her new song titled “Liquor”, which is taken off her debut EP, Perpetual Motion.

The visual treatment is a jarring take on the themes of self-realization and strength, with a fierce visual depiction. Crafted by a collective of queer queens, the video was shot and directed by Donna Yeatman, whose film credits include Boy & Bear and Empra and features award-winning Burlesque performer/kaleidoscope of glitter, Ruby Slippers.

A Dionysian sense of theater, sexuality and ecstatic madness permeates throughout the video. A transformative nature moves with the characters as they shed skins from stereotypical glamour to glam. The climax, however, is left open, with a cryptic showdown between Magnets and Ruby Slippers, presented as a possible war of minds or alter egos.
