It’s been a long time since we gathered for Snow Patrol, and they did not disappoint. You probably remember the hit, “Chasing Cars” from their 2006 album, ‘Eyes Open’. They weren’t there to marinate on the past but to apologize for their absence and grace us with their new music.
It was the third show performing their new album, ‘Wildness‘. The album, dropping in May, is the Snow Patrol feel that you know and love… with stories of battles that come with life. Excited fans piled into the Fonda Theater on a brisk night in Hollywood. The band originated in 1993, bringing together concert-goers from all age groups. The lead singer Gary Lightbody, warmed the crowd with his undeniable appreciation for everyone sharing this with them. His humor lit up the crowd and made the performance even more intimate.
They ended the set with the classic, “Chasing Cars”, and had the whole theater singing it with them. I find that beautiful about live music… every person had different memories of that song from nearly 12 years ago but were all together sharing the moment as if no time had passed.
