Last Friday night the Troubadour was mesmerized by an onslaught of top-notch sonic mastery. Presented by KROQ Locals Only, the lineup consisted of pop phenom Rouxx, indie rockers Sleeptalk, and the magical Cappa.
Cappa kicked off the night with her luxurious voice and a well-poised demeanor. Songs such as “Wannabe” and “Don’t Go” did a solid job warming up the packed house for the energetic night ahead. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on this one – she’s bound to blow up any day now.
The gents in Sleeptalk followed Cappa and added to her energy with a performance that’ll be remembered for months. Frontman and flower pants-wearing Anthony Fitzpatrick led his band of rockers through a set that had the audience sweating, dancing, and singing their tunes. Songs such as “I Want All Your Time” and “Feeling You” graced the ears of the venue and prompted a slew of phones to come out to record the fantastic set.
Rouxx, the headliner for the night, graced the stage with his presence around 10 PM. Dressed in neon green overalls, the pop artist quickly gained the room’s attention by performing a plethora of songs from his expanding discography.
At one point during the night, Rouxx took himself along with a mic into the crowd to perform a song with the audience, which caused pure fandemonium. Rouxx mixed in with fans, fans mixed in with Rouxx, either way, the energy was intoxicating.
Rouxx performed such bangers as “Gravestone” and “Smile” before he retreated to his dressing room, only to emerge for a well-deserved encore performing the song “Back To You feat Sai”.
Be sure to keep all of the artists above on your music radar – big things are coming for each of them.
