Riot Fest, the annual Chicago punk music festival, turns 15 years-old this year. Today they announced a loaded lineup. The festival takes place September 13-15 in Douglas Park.
A lot of the festival headliners this year are newly reunited like The Raconteurs, Bikini Kill, Avail and Jawbreaker. This year will also mark a couple of farewell shows for Metal Gods Slayer and surf-rockers the B-52’s.
Surprisingly, a large number of artists will be playing full-album sets like The Flaming Lips doing Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. Avail will perform Over the James. Against Me! are one-upping everyone by doing two albums, Reinventing Axl Rose and Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Senses Fail are following suit with From The Depths Of Dreams and Let It Enfold You.
Ween will perform their water-obsessed masterpiece The Mollusk. Taking Back Sunday are also doing a two-fer with Tell All Your Friends and Louder Now. Bloc Party will be jamming out the entirety of Silent Alarm. Dashboard Confessional will be performing the emo-classic The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most. Glassjaw will play Worship and Tribute and The Selecter will do Too Much Pressure.
Aside from full-albums, there are a lot of other high profile bands playing the fest, like Blink-182, Die Antwoord, Gwar, White Reaper, Violent Femmes, Andrew W.K., Anthrax, Bob Mould, Cursive, The Get Up Kids, Rancid, Pvris, Manchester Orchestra, Hot Water Music and many more. That is not even mentioning The Village People … no really, they are actually performing.
