On the 20th anniversary of their first Halloween show in Vegas in 1998 (which featured a “musical costume” set of Velvet Underground‘s Loaded) Phish will return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a four-night run. In unconventional fashion due to the layout of the week, the Halloween concert will be the first in the series of four shows that will continue through Saturday, November 3rd.
In 2017, TAB played during Halloween with a conventional show, meaning 2016 and 2014 are the last two times Phish played together on a 10/31 date. In 2014, the musical costume was the 1964 Disneyland album Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House in which the quartet exerted more noticeable influence in the songs.
As opposed to 2016’s cover of David Bowie‘s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars which featured a more straightforward interpretation.
Now the obvious question is…who will Phish cover next? Rumors among the community are certainly rampant. But, until the night of the 31st no one will know for sure.
