Nine Inch Nails released a new video this morning for another track on their forthcoming Add Violence EP. Directed by Alex Lieu, the video is a slow pull out on old looking analog equipment that is so weathered that it looks like it could have come out of one of the hatches in Lost. For the first minute, it is difficult to discern whether the camera is moving, and the focus of the image is on a knob whose settings are off, manual, add violence and auto. The entire duration of the video, the viewer is waiting anxiously for someone to flip that knob to the add violence setting.
The Add Violence EP releases on July 21st. You can buy the limited digital version now with a mysterious physical component here. You can preorder the vinyl release here. The CD is due out on September 1st.
Nine Inch Nails are headlining Sunday at the FYF Festival in downtown Los Angeles, and tickets are still available. Get yours here. They recently announced that the band would not be going on a full fledged tour, but would instead play a handful of dates each year in support of their new music.
