Tuesday, June 18 at The Wiltern Theater, Nick Murphy graced Los Angeles with his musical presence. Also known as ‘Chet Faker’, Murphy last released his album ‘Built on Glass’ back in 2014. This full-length album went platinum and truly sparked Nick’s career winning seven ARIA music awards such as Best Male Artist & Producer of the year.
The opening duo was the band Beacon who are highly talented and super easy to listen to and just sort of rock with. Buttery smooth vocals, steady drum beats and ghostly sound waves that put you right in the vibe of a surf video (at least for me it did) but you can be the judge for yourself.
It is safe to say that when Murphy announced the release of his new album ‘Run Fast, Sleep Naked’ after a 4-year break to travel and write new music, his fans could not be more excited and eager to welcome Murphy back to the stage.
He played many of his crowd-pleasing hits from Built on Glass and also gave us a front row seat to his new music. One thing I absolutely love about this multi-instrumental musician is that he sounds exactly like his records when he is performing live. A true artist who has his craft dialed in that it seems effortless.
Nick Murphy’s music was soothing to the soul, easy on the ears and went extremely well with some bourbon on the rocks.
Run Fast Sleep Naked is available everywhere and ready to listen too on your music streaming platform of choice. There are still a solid amount of Tour dates on Murphy’s website so be sure to give it a glance.
