monmoi’s new single “Enemy” is a hypnotic and melodic dreamscape nicely suited for a morning bop or evening chill. A music project born out of lockdown, monmoi is a London-based bedroom pop artist crafting some incredibly dreamy songful shoegaze.
“Enemy” is monoi’s 5th release set to be the first song of an exciting double release this month. Speaking on the track, monmoi states: “The song revolves around a couple and a relationship close to breaking down with jealousy being the main cause. The narrator blames his girlfriend and her actions but doesn’t realize that the true enemy is himself and his envious nature.”
The new track is a soothing sweet-sounding listen similar to that of artists such as Boy Pablo and Toro Y Moi, though a fresh voice and unique in expression. monmoi fantastically conveys a bittersweet Lo-fi pop sound, catchy in melody and dreamlike in tone.
