Elohim, which means God in Hebrew, made her mark at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood. If you haven’t heard of this new artist it’s probably because her genre can’t be pinned down and takes anonymity to a new level.
Her opening acts included rapper Darnell Williams, Yoshi Flower, Battle Tapes, and DJ set Trust Me Danny. All very different sounds and representative to Elohim’s wide audience. Fans wore black face masks with ‘ELOHIM’ across it, showing off her love of being low key.
It’s been 3 years since she debuted her first track, “She Talks Too Much”. Elohim just dropped a 15-track self-titled album that was worth the wait.
She started the set in a hooded trench coat, and song by song revealed herself as the music got funkier. She is a producer, singer, and songwriter and you can tell. The artist did it all herself, and even had time to dance it out away from her keyboard booth. There’s something special about musicians who hide their identity. The audience focuses more on the music, and less on the artist. Elohim stays anonymous and is still sexy… that’s when you know she’s a raw talent who is onto something great.
