CREEPER’s resurrection is firmly underway. The sextet rose from the ashes in dramatic style earlier this month with a secret show at London’s 229 under the pseudonym Fugitives of Heaven – a year to the day that they’d apparently said a final farewell after a performance at Koko in London.
The gig saw them debut the brand new song “Born Cold”. It received its debut play on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show courtesy of Daniel P Carter. It has since earned further Radio 1 airplay from Annie Mac.
Now, CREEPER shares the track’s accompanying official video. Full of subtle symbolism that hints at what to expect from CREEPER’s next narrative, the visual captures the band’s theatrical and whole-hearted performance along with their striking new image.
Watch the video below:
“The video reveals the world and themes of the new album for the first time,” says frontman Will Gould. “It also introduces fans to the first of the new characters in the Creeper universe; Roe, a man from another world.”
The video was directed by the creative collective Forest of Black, whose previous credits include Biffy Clyro, Slaves, and Royal Blood.
Formed in Southampton, CREEPER continually evolved over the course of three EPs before their debut LP ‘Eternity, In Your Arms’ elevated the outsiders into the Top 20 on the UK charts. Using their punk roots as the basis for wide-ranging sonics and ambitious narrative concepts, CREEPER earned Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards, Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards, and Best British Newcomer in the Rock Sound readers’ poll
CREEPER will support BABYMETAL on the UK leg of next year’s METAL GALAXY WORLD TOUR. The dates are:
19th – Glasgow, Barrowland
20th – Cardiff, The Great Hall
22nd – Manchester, O2 Apollo
23rd – London, Hammersmith Eventim Apollo
