“BABY JANE” BY MOON COWBOY SUCCESSFULLY TAKES INSPIRATION FROM ITS SHOEGAZER PREDECESSORS

On the face of it, Baby Jane” is a catchy song with irresistible melodies that is very upbeat and creatively structured with plies of guitars layered on top. The track is driving and muscular sounding that still feels spacey and mystical. The languid aural landscape is ear candy for the listener. Ride and Slowdive come to mind who are pioneers who innovated the genre. Ricardo Fiel, a London-based songwriter, is Moon Cowboy, which is a solo act. Fiel is working with producer Darren Allison (Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine), collaborating with Rachel Goswell (Slowdive, Mojave 3) and touring with Portuguese superstar David Fonseca. So he’s in great company collaborating with the “real deal” working closely with people associated with bands he feels a kinship to. Plus, emulates and goes beyond mere imitation and striving for an original voice and style of his own.
