The new Vampire Weekend album is easily one of the most anticipated albums of the year, and as fans wait with baited breath, the band has announced a couple of intimate shows at the Libbey Bowl in Ojai California on June 16th and 17th.
Tickets go on sale Friday June 1st at 10AM. They are sure to sell out fast, so get your computer ready on Friday morning. You will find them here.
In April, Vampire Weekend played a surprise set at a live event at the Largo in Los Angeles, spurring a flurry of speculation about their upcoming album. The band has announced a series of dates this summer at major festivals like Lollapalooza, Fuji Rocks and End of the Road. These seem like tune up dates before a major tour announcement.
In a recent Reddit response, lead singer Ezra Koenig responded to a fan about how close they are to finishing the new album, saying they are “94.5%” done. The working title of their fourth album is rumored to be Mitsubishi Macchiato. This will be the first Vampire Weekend album without founding member Rostam Batmanglij. Their last album Modern Vampires of the City was released way back in 2013.
