In a day and age where a song can be completely made with a computer, it’s promising to see rock bands like The Bay Rays proving that classic musicality is not dead. Getting their start in Kent in 2015, their latest single, “Begin Again” is everything a good rock song should be – tight, clean, and fresh, with amazing harmony provided by frontman Harry Nicoll and band members Maxwell Oakley and Anthus Davis.
Opening with guitar and drums, Nicoll sings of beginning again, hitting some awesome high notes as the song transitions to the bridge, a nice bit of electric guitar, and then finally the chorus where the song stays upbeat. As the song gets closer to its conclusion, The Bay Rays slow it down, giving it a rock, jazz feel.

Written and produced by the band and their friend Drew Bang, a man who has worked with rock groups like Royal Blood and U2, Nicoll says that, “Begin Again is about reflection and new beginnings, shedding away from old to new, from love to life to friendships.”
Their latest EP “Darkness and Doubt” will be released on August 24th. Till then, give “Begin Again” a listen.
