The world’s greatest rock band, Tenacious D announced a tour and revealed that they are working on a new album. The release date is “probably 2018.” Kyle Gass and Jack Black are at it again, and they hit the road in October, so prepare yourself for some serious face shredding.
This bombshell drops after last week’s revelation that there will be another Tenacious D movie. During a set at the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta, GA, Jack Black announced, “Part Two’s coming out in October. I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out.”
The first film, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny was released in 2006 and bombed miserably at the box office. Their last album, 2012’s Rize of the Fenix poked fun at the film’s failure. Nothing else is known about the film, but October is not much time, unless it has already been filmed in secret.
The band will be playing the Foo Fighters music festival Cal Jam alongside Iggy Pop and Garbage. You can get tickets here starting on Thursday 5/17 at 10AM. Tickets for the rest of the tour go on sale Friday 5/18 at 10AM. You can get yours here.
