Started by twin brothers and two of their childhood friends, Georgia quartet Silverpalms brings a classic rock vibe with their latest single, “Hey You”. Influenced by the rocker attitude rather than a sound, singer Dalton Drury, guitarists Roman Perry and Adam Drury, and bassist Wade Beahm channel their attitude not only through their music but through their videos as well.
Beginning with drums, guitar quickly follows, with Drury singing, his voice reminiscent of Julian Casablanca from the Strokes. The lyrics tell the story of a person going out, not actually wanting to go out in the first place. They look for someone to connect with but don’t. As the bridge kicks in, Drury sings about feeling alive. As the chorus breaks in, the drums increase and the guitar gets heavy.

Made up of shots from classic films like Metropolis, Singing in the Rain and others, the band inter-cuts with black and white shots of themselves walking around, while the lyrics appear in bold font around the black frame. Towards the end of the song, the lyrics disappear with a message saying, “you know the words”, allowing the music to play over the ending clips.
With more singles to be released in 2018, Silverpalms will definitely keep rock alive with their great songs and fun videos.
