The evolution of an artist can take decades. Starting at the age of 13, LA-based musician Riah, now 26, has reached new heights as she continues to grow as a musician and singer. Her latest single, “Prom”, is an indie pop dream, driven by Riah’s ethereal voice.
“Prom” begins with cool synths followed by a heavy bass as Riah sings about love lost, but not forgotten. She guides the song vocally, allowing the music to trail off into nothing as if she is implying that the person she sings about is a thought that will slowly fade. Having released singles, “Wildfire” and “Nightmare” in 2016 and single, “Nice” in 2017, “Prom” is a perfect addition, showcasing her distinct style. An excellent live performer, Riah’s vocal ability is mesmerizing, keeping her audience engaged and dancing to the beats she created.

One can only hope that Riah will announce plans to soon release an EP as her music leaves you wanting more. Playing a sold-out concert at the Peppermint club tonight, February 9th, Riah will perform next as the opening act for Nashville based indie-pop band Coin at the Fonda Theater on March 9th.
