Bob’s Burgers, coming off its second Emmy in the last four years for Outstanding Animated Series, has announced a full length feature movie for set for release in 2020. Starring H Jon Benjamin (a.k.a. Sterling Archer), the series incorporates original music in every episode but remains unique in its delivery, and the success of the songs beyond the borders of Bob’s Burgers. Each episode ends with one of the original songs from the previous 20-minutes and family member(s) dancing along with the closing credits.

Any fan of the show will confirm how many of these songs will become stuck inside the head long after the screen goes dark. “Slumber Party Fashion Show”, “Can’t Get Enough (of Your Woman Stuff)”, and “BM in the PM” are personal culprits. In fact, this past spring The Bob’s Burgers Music Album was released on colored vinyl with over 100 songs from the shows first 7 seasons and is available here.

Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard on the movie:

“We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show.”

Loren Bouchard, also co-created Home Movies with Brendon Small of Metalocalypse fame-who has guest starred on Bob’s Burgers. Cartoons with songs seems to typically include them as  soundtrack or a lavish musical dance piece, where as Bob’s Burgers songs are typically written by the show’s fictional characters and are more personal vs including the whole town in the tune.

The other main cast members are funny people who have likely been seen/heard by most in other  roles, the top being the three Belcher children; Gene (Eugene Mirman), Tina (Dan Mintz), and Louise (Kristen Schaal). The movie currently has a set release date of July 17, 2020.
