Back in early July Jason Butler, the ex-Letlive frontman announced he had teamed up with members of Night Verses (Aric Importa) and Chariot (Stephen “Stevis” Harrison) to create the band called The Fever.
Today, the newly created group released their first track titled “We’re Coming In”. The song starts with Butler rattling and shouting lyrics while sounding familiar to former Rage Against the Machine’s frontman Zack de la Rocha’s trademark howl. The track as a whole doesn’t create a palpable experience. Rather, it drags on and repeats itself. Its instrumentals feel ill-conceived and poorly created while the lyrics do nothing but bore the audience.
Back on July 2nd Butler took to Instagram and wrote, “To those of you who want change, here is an offering to start that conversation. I’ve had a lot of people asking me what I’ll be doing in the future – here is a taste of that. I love art. I love being a musician. I love progress. And I am no stranger to pushing back if I feel it is necessary. This will be an exhibition of all the things I love w/ like minded people for whom I care deeply. To all the tired, frustrated, and brave, come join us.”
Hopefully, The Fever has more gas in the tank. If any of their future tracks mimic this particular one their music will go unnoticed.
