Literally writing the single in her underwear on a hot day in her bedroom, artist G. Smith brings an intensely grungy feel to “Underwear”. With its repetitive lyrics and beat, the song gets stuck in your head and refuses to leave anytime soon.
Opening with 80’s inspired synths, G Smith’s looped voice talks as she sings in a higher range. Reaching the middle of the song, things heat up with an electric synth guitar as Smith sings, “I don’t know, I don’t care, I’ll show you my underwear”. She says that “[the song] is a light-hearted song about heavy things, about the back and forth conversations that happen in your head when you’re an addict.
