FLAMING LIPS AND MAC DEMARCO TO PLAY TWO SHOWS IN LOS ANGELES

The Flaming Lips and Mac Demarco are co-headlining a show at the Shrine Expo Hall on Saturday, October 7th. Then two days later, the two groups will be playing a much more intimate show at the Fox Theater Pomona on October 9th.

Flaming Lips trippy shows are not to be missed. Their elaborate stage shows involve video projection, large-scale props like people in mushroom suits and giant hands, tons of confetti, balloons, puppets, intricate lighting, and of course Wayne Coyne’s ever-present human-sized bubble. You don’t want to miss Coyne traversing the audience in a giant hamster ball.

Their latest, On Board the International Space Station Concert for Peace, was released on 2017’s record store day and features live-ish remixes of seven of the tracks from Oczy Mlody. But in typical Lips fashion, the songs are performed as if they were being broadcast from space.
